Darjeeling Sikkim Tour Overview
A DARJEELING/SIKKIM Tour is a peaceful and exciting trip to the mountains of India. These places are known for their fresh air, green hills, and snow-covered mountains. People go there to feel close to nature, see beautiful views, and enjoy quiet walks in cool weather.
Darjeeling is a hill town that sits high up in the mountains. It is famous for its tea gardens. When you go on a DARJEELING/SIKKIM Tour, you will see wide green fields where tea leaves are grown. You might even get to taste fresh tea. You can also ride the toy train, which is a small, slow train that goes through the hills and lets you see the scenery all around. Early in the morning, you can go to Tiger Hill to see the sun rise over Mount Kanchenjunga, the third-highest mountain in the world. The sky turns orange and pink, and the view is something you will never forget.
After Darjeeling, the tour takes you to Sikkim, another beautiful place in the mountains. The roads go through forests, rivers, and villages. In Sikkim, you can visit places like Gangtok, which is the capital city. It is small, clean, and quiet. You can see Buddhist monasteries where monks pray and spin prayer wheels. There are also ropeways where you can ride above the city and look down at the hills and houses.
One of the best parts of the DARJEELING/SIKKIM Tour is seeing the culture. The people wear colorful clothes, speak different languages, and are always kind. You can try local food like momos (dumplings) and thukpa (noodle soup), which are warm and tasty, especially in the cold mountain weather.
Everywhere you go during the DARJEELING/SIKKIM Tour, the air feels fresh and the views are amazing. Whether you are walking through tea gardens, visiting old monasteries, or just enjoying the cool breeze, this trip makes you feel calm and happy. It’s a simple and beautiful journey into the heart of nature and mountain life.
This tour is perfect for families, friends, or anyone who wants to relax and enjoy peaceful places far away from busy cities.
Darjeeling Sikkim Tour Itinerary
Expand AllYour adventure begins in Kathmandu. In the evening, you hop on a big, comfortable deluxe bus that will take you all the way to Kakarvitta, which is near the border of Nepal and India. The bus ride takes all night, so you sleep on the bus while it drives. Along the way, you stop for dinner and stretch your legs. By the time the sun rises, you reach Kakarvitta. It’s early morning, and a new place is waiting to be explored.
Once you get off the bus, you take some time to freshen up and eat breakfast at a nearby hotel. Then you walk for about 30 minutes to the Indian border at a place called Panitanki. After crossing the border, you ride in a vehicle that takes you to the hill state of Sikkim. The road to Sikkim is full of trees, rivers, and cool mountain air. You stop for lunch on the way. When you reach Sikkim, you check in at the hotel, rest, and enjoy the quiet evening. It’s your first night in the hills and the weather feels fresh and clean.
After breakfast, you head out for a full day of sightseeing. The first stop is Chango Lake, a beautiful blue lake surrounded by snow. It feels like a picture from a storybook. Then you visit three more places: Tashi View Point where you can see big snowy mountains, Hanuman Tok which is a peaceful temple, and Ganesh Tok, another temple with lovely views. You return to the hotel in the evening. The air is cool and you might see stars in the sky. You have dinner and sleep peacefully.
In the morning, you eat breakfast and get ready to leave Sikkim. You now drive to Darjeeling, another beautiful hill town. After arriving, you check into the hotel and have lunch. Then you go on a half-day tour. You visit six interesting places.
- Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, where you can see snow leopards and red pandas.
- Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, where you learn about climbing mountains.
- Darjeeling Ropeway, where you ride high above the trees and see the whole valley.
- Tenzing and Gombu Rocks, where people practice mountain climbing.
- Chitray Tea Garden, where green tea plants grow in rows on hills.
- Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, which are quiet places to think and enjoy nature.
- You return to the hotel for dinner and rest well after a busy day.
You wake up early to see the sunrise from Tiger Hill. The view is magical as the sun lights up the mountains, including Mount Kanchenjunga. Then you visit Ghoom Monastery, a peaceful place with prayer flags, and Batasia Loop, a garden with train tracks.
After breakfast, you have some free time to buy souvenirs—small gifts or things to remember the trip. You eat lunch, then drive to Pashupatinagar. If there’s time, you stop in Fikkal for a short visit.
